Team presentation: Aicha Ait Boulahcen, make up artist

After a small pause in our team members presentations (more on that later), we continue this week with Aicha Ait Boulahcen.

Streetglams team presentation: Aicha Ait Boulahcen, make up artist

What is your role in the team?

First off, I’d like to express how happy I am to be part of this super creative team. I am thrilled by the recent projects we delivered, and can’t wait to work on new ones! Now, as for the question, I double as make up artist and hair stylist.

How did you get into make up art?

Make up art is my childhood dream. When I was little, I always looked up to my aunt and her perfect make up, and I loved how she would do my lips and nails. From then on, I knew that this would be my passion and dream job.

What is your favorite part of the creative process?

I really like to create and propose different looks that fit the theme of the photo shoot. I am a very proud of my work, so I make a point of adding a little bit of me in every look.

Where does your inspiration come from?

I find inspiration in many things I see or experience, but at the core of my job there is of course, fashion. I go through a lot of fashion magazines and social media sites, such as Pinterest or facebook.

Share your favorite book or artwork with us.

I will mention magazines instead:

  • Institute
  • Vogue
  • Allure
  • Fashion mag

What other projects are you currently working on?

I do not have projects other than this one, but I am a full time make up artist at MAC cosmetics! That keeps me very busy already (laughs).

Working at MAC is a boon, I like to be on the edge of what can be done with both talent and great products.

Why a break in the team presentations?

Well, let’s just say that we all fell a little ill, at the same time! Coughs and a mild fever spread accross the studio like wildfire. Probably the sudden change in temperature… The point being, the last few articles were tough to wrap up. On a more positive note, this gave us some leeway to showcase our commercial work of Marie Van Gils lingerie collection. I am sure you did not mind!

Have a great weekend and see you next week!
