Hello fashion lovers! We are wrapping up the team presentation series today with the interview of our very own stylist and fashion blogger, Ruxandra Ioana Marinescu. We decided to go big on this last one by creating a different outfit for every scene! A wink to Ruxandra’s abilities. Read what this witty girl has to say, and enjoy the result of our creative session through photographs by Marta Hurtado.
Interview with Ruxandra Ioana Marinescu, stylist and fashion blogger
What is your role in the team?
My role at Streetglams is to help translate the creative brief into stylish outfits. Hector, our creative director, comes up with the theme, mood, and rough proposals for outfits. Then, I help flush the whole outfit from head to toe. Later during the shoot, I see that all styling demands are met. I am really happy to be the team stylist!
How did you get into styling?
I’ve always had a passion for everything related to clothes, accessories, shoes… Well, everything that is fashion, actually. That was the very reason why I decided to start my own street style blog three years ago. Like Marta, I aim to inspire all women to dress beautifully, and my journey is still ongoing. Then, Hector contacted me for the launch of Streetglams a year ago, and I was part of his first week of posts (smile). When Hector and Marta approached me again a few months ago for the new phase and concept of Streetglams, I was thrilled because I knew this was a step in the right direction. I will do my best to do a great job!
What is your favorite part of the creative process?
I think that my favorite part is simply the result. That moment when I see a big smile on everyone’s face after a job well done. There is no bigger reward than to make people happy, and be a part of it.
Where does your inspiration come from?
My inspiration comes from everywhere. Someone well dressed that I pass by on the street, magazines, or even a song I can relate to. I love music: Rihanna, Beyonce, Jay-Z, Aerosmith… I find it wonderful that styling is a bit like art, and every artist knows that you can be inspired by everything and everyone.
Share your favorite book or artwork with us.
My favorite book is Petite Anglaise, by Catherine Sanderson. I find a lot of myself in that book, as it tells the tale of a young girl who moves into a new country, following her dreams and then starting a blog that shares her life. It is a perfect story of love, adventure, drama, all happening in today’s era.
What other projects are you currently working on?
As a fashion blogger, I have many ongoing projects with brands and other online boutiques. It’s a fun, energizing, endless merry-go-round! (laughs)
Do you have a parting advice for our readers?
For our readers, I would like to say this: stay fabulous! … And if you want to see what fabulous looks like, then follow Streetglams because we have a lot of fab in store for you! (laughs)
