Hello fashion lovers and photo buffs,
Today, we are happy to wrap up the week with the launch of Bird of Paradise, the new lingerie collection by Marie Van Gils.
Bird of Paradise, a lingerie capsule collection by Marie Van Gils
Marie is no stranger to Streetglams. She’s a fan, she’s our glam #9, and a returning client that we gladly meet again to brainstorm.
Although we delivered Streetglams quality shots, there was not much time for planning. Luckily, we have a few aces up our sleeves, such as the talented Sharon Boucquez. With the exception of make up artist Liesbeth De Smet, the whole team had already worked together for the last FIFA world cup collection, and that surely helped smoothen the last rough corners.
We love how this second outfit looks so different from the front than from the side, despite being one and the same. It’s a playful note of contrasts on skin. On Marie’s request, the concept was taken one step further in post processing by repeating the lace pattern as a tattoo on Sharon’s body.
But let’s read further into what Marie has to say about her work.
SG: What can you tell us about your new collection?
MVG: The collection is called Bird of Paradise, as a tribute to the inspiration that are birds. The feather bra is an important statement in itself, because it was completely created with feathers from a sustainable aviary: none of these were plucked from live animals, and were instead collected after birds lost them naturally.
SG: Any future projects you want to share with our readers?
Lots! But I’d like to keep the surprise!
